MYMAKOM WOMEN

Who We Are

myMakom Women provides a home for all women (or those who identify as women) of Makom Solel Lakeside to connect, explore and empower each other through a Jewish lens. We provide opportunities for the women of our congregation to share experiences that reflect our Jewish values, traditions, and spirituality.

myMakom Women is committed to inclusiveness, gentleness, social justice and healing both within and outside of our congregational community. We work with Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) to provide connections to women throughout the world and shared values, to provide programming, training and advocacy for the women of our congregation, and to support WRJ's global commitment to social good with a women's emphasis.

Programs for the 2023 year will include:

Tu BiSh’vat Seder | February 5, 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM. We will hold a  “seder” where we will follow ritual and partake in four glasses of wine and fruits native to Israel. We will also have a Tikkun Olam activity related to saving our trees.

Mimouna Celebration | April 16, 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM. This is the first day after Passover. a Mizrahi, Eastern custom, that celebrates the return to eating chametz, leavened goods. We could really provide a way for our many challah bakers to shine!

Women’s Shabbat Service & Dinner | May 12. This service is a celebration of women and is open to all. The service is created and led by women of our congregation, includes beautiful readings and music, and a women’s choir.

Women of Reform Judaism upcoming events:
