Adult Education at Makom Solel Lakeside happens all through the year and all through the week. Our clergy and educators teach different classes for our congregants. Offerings include Musical Meditation with Cantor Jay O’Brien, Mussar with Director of Congregational Learning, Ashely Plotnick, Current topics including Anti-Semitism with Rabbi Evan Moffic and Judaica topics such as Kabbalah and Jewish Reel Movies with Rabbi Ike Serotta. Vanessa M. Ehrlich, Director of Lifelong Learning offers both a short story book group that meets during the day and a book club that meets in the evening.

Join Rabbi Moffic as he presents 6 sessions on Polish-born American Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, one of the leading Jewish theologians and Jewish philosophers of the 20th century.

Lunch & Learn with Rabbi Ike Serotta 

Join Rabbi Ike Serotta for a 4-part series lunch & learn as he discusses the book, The Prophet of the Andes: An Unlikely Journey to the Promised Land.

The remarkable true story of how one Peruvian carpenter led hundreds of Christians to Judaism, sparking a pilgrimage from the Andes to Israel and inspiring a wave of emerging Latin American Jewish Communities.

Music & Meditation with Cantor Jay O'Brien

Join us as we sing, meditate, and reflect on the blessings of life and the beauty of our spiritual traditions. Each 1-hour is centered around participatory discussions, and features weekly teachings about Jewish music, poetry, and mindfulness techniques. Our hope is that all may find support and connection through our sacred community and spiritual practices.
