INTERFAITH FAMILIES

Makom Solel Lakeside welcomes interfaith families.

Makom means place. We have a proud history of creating an inclusive space for interfaith families. If your family is interfaith, we welcome you and invite you to participate fully in our congregational life. As a congregation, we value inclusion.

We want to start by saying, you and your family belong here. We understand the unique challenges that arise when one or more family members come from a different faith background. Both nuclear and extended interfaith families face challenges of decision-making, holiday celebration and honoring other traditions. You are welcome here. At Makom Solel Lakeside, we are an inclusive Jewish community. Whether you intend to remain interfaith and raise your family with a diverse spiritual experience or whether you or your loved ones have interest in converting to Judaism, our leadership and extended Makom family are here to support your journey.

It is important for us to tell our community who are Jewish, that we warmly welcome you to our community. Whether you are affiliated with another religious institution or whether Makom Solel Lakeside is your only congregation, you are welcome as part of our congregational family and we hope you will consider our synagogue a place you can call home. Access to clergy, learning opportunities, and participation in synagogue life are available to you just as they are to Jewish members.

Whether you are Jewish or not, if you are interested in learning more about our community, we are here for you. Reach out to our office at office@mymakom.org or call us at 847-433-3555.
