The Makom Green Group seeks to bring the importance of caring for the earth into the fabric of our congregation, in building and in our homes. Taking care of the earth is a basic Jewish teaching and an essential part of Tikkun Olam.

The Green Group is a great place to engage in fun and meaningful activities, like our pollinator garden, National Wildlife Certification project. We try to integrate waste reduction and general sustainability practices as we engage in other areas of synagogue life. The Green Group works with other Jewish and Faith-based organizations to enhance our knowledge and effectiveness. We know climate change is an overriding factor that requires the impact of many of us working together.

Our own Green Commandments guide us in our activities and action and we encourage the direct experience of nature to enhance all endeavors.
