High Holy Days

Makom Solel Lakeside's High Holy Day program offers a variety of service formats designed to satisfy a spectrum of spiritual preferences, musical preferences, ages and scheduling requirements. Click here for our 2019/5780 High Holy Day Packet which includes important FAQs.

All services (with the exception of the Yom Kippur Koloteinu service) will be led by Rabbi Moffic, Rabbi Serotta and Cantor O’Brien. Sermons will remain the same for each shift (i.e. the sermon delivered at the Erev Rosh Hashanah Koloteinu service will also be read at the Erev Rosh Hashanah Choir service).

Our Choir Services are more traditional and liturgically comprehensive. The music is led beautifully by Cantor Jay O’Brien and our choir, who inspire with their voices while creating an atmosphere of connection and participation.

The Koloteinu Services, also known as “our voices,” stress intimacy and participation through singing and learning with our rabbis, cantor and song leader. The primary accompanying instrument is the guitar rather than the piano.

*Our community-wide Family Services offered both on Rosh Hashanah day and on Yom Kippur, provide an opportunity for families with children ages 5-12 to experience meaningful services together.

*Preschool Services are short, song-based services held first thing in the morning on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur for families with young children (birth to 5) and are open to non-affiliated members of the community.

*Open to the community at no cost. Tickets are required.
